Student Nurse Technician Program

Jumpstart your nursing career with Saint Raphael's Student Nurse Technician employment program during school breaks. With openings on most units for per diem student nurse technicians, Saint Raphael's will provide the training and orientation necessary to get the job done. You'll learn the valuable skills of EKG, suctioning, and catheterization while enhancing your patient care skills. You'll also become familiar with hospital procedures, medical terminology and medical technology. All aspects of this role prepare you for a smoother entry into professional practice upon graduation.

• be actively enrolled in a registered nurse program with a graduation date of May 2010
• have completed at least one clinical rotation
• be able to complete all aspects of the orientation (to be held on December 28, 2009; online applications will be available starting September 15)
• be willing to work on a monthly basis

Pick Your Position

If you are a nursing student and have completed at least one clinical rotation in an accredited school of nursing, you may work as a Student Nurse Technician, providing direct care to patients under the supervision of an experienced R.N. Saint Raphael's will provide you with free training in EKG, suctioning, catheterization, and you'll develop skills and confidence in clinical care, hospital procedures, medical terminology, and the use of medical technology. Working directly with our patients, student nurses are assigned and provide direct patient care. Their contribution to overall unit function is invaluable.

Not enrolled in a nursing school yet? Or no clinical rotation experience? No problem! You may work as a Unit Clerk, responsible for various administrative functions on a nursing unit. Or, become a Patient Care Assistant, monitoring and providing non-clinical care to patients who require observation.

No matter which position you choose, you'll work side-by-side with experienced nurses, physicians and other caregivers who use the latest techniques, treatments and equipment in patient care.
