Psych Nursing
The Hospital of Saint Raphael's 25 bed Acute Adult Psychiatric Care Unit -- "Celentano One" – offers tremendous opportunities to advance your psych nursing career. With patients ranging in age from 18-90, and with diagnoses including (but not limited to) schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and substance abuse, this unit offers rewarding challenges in the psychiatric and medical care arenas.
As a nurse here, you'll collaborate with clinical technicians to support the overall care of your patients, as you follow them from their entry through the emergency room to their discharge from treatment. Our unit's supportive, multidisciplinary team approach to treatment sees physicians, nurses, social workers, advanced practice psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists and recreation therapists meeting together each morning, to evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Group therapy and life skill groups provide structure and enhance the overall milieu.
Whether you are a new graduate or an experienced nurse, we offer you orientation programs and preceptors individually designed to enable you to grow in your psychiatric nursing practice. We also offer weekly case conferences and teaching rounds, to develop and enhance your understanding and knowledge of medications, treatment modalities and desired outcomes.
The Celentano One staff promotes team camaraderie, energy and cohesiveness through a weekly "Spirit Day" celebration. Each Thursday, the staff chooses a theme and gathers informally over coffee or lunch to discuss opportunities for change, and to celebrate our successes in serving our unique patient population.
If you're ready to experience the best in psychiatric care and collaboration, this is the perfect setting for your career.
